² Not including racial or ethnic minorities (even if those minorities one day become a majority), or women!

I found your blog through Alpha Inventions, and I’ve been looking through your archives. I’m really enjoying your blog! This particular post is great. I didn’t know that the “under God” was added in so recently; interesting. And, of course, I loved your latest amendment to the pledge.
great post. You missed some of the worst of it. The pledge of allegiance was the origin of the salute of the National Socialist German Workers Party, and influenced its symbols and rituals. See the work of the noted historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of “Pledge of Allegiance Secrets”).
This is one of the best and most thorough blog posts on the state of America that I have seen anywhere but on radical/anarchist blogs, for some time.

As much as I don’t hate America, I think people often forget it was founded on the deaths of brown people (Original Americans, imported Africans, and others), on the subordination of women, on the tyranny of false religion, and on the tried and true terror tactics of political backstabbing.
The tradition continues today, when non-whites, non-males, non-able-bodied or sound-minded people, and the non-wealthy (or even the non-middle-class-or-above) are subject to ridiculous miscarriages of justice and politicians spend most of their time screwing people over, snorting blow, having closeted gay sex in bathrooms, and MAKING MONEY making money making money.
It’s time we take this place back, starting with that bloated and grotesque pledge of allegiance.

I found this interesting post about the evolution of
the pledge of allegiance. As I read it I couldn’t help
but think how this displayed the further indoctrination into
“Americanism” that displayed separatist values and instills

In reality-
The Christian Socialists, at least in America had a small following and won few converts among Americas working class.
It was the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization that got the ball rolling. The Knights thought the words would be appropriate to add since they were from [b]Lincolns Gettysburg Address[/b].
They added it to their pledge for their meetings and it was quickly adopted by other chapters.
They petitioned Washington to have it added to the pledge nationally but each attempt to do so was rejected.
It was Eisenhower, who after hearing a sermon regarding Lincolns Gettysburg Address, who made the change in 1954 – [i]“These words [“under God”] will remind Americans that despite our great physical strength we must remain humble. They will help us to keep constantly in our minds and hearts the spiritual and moral principles which alone give dignity to man, and upon which our way of life is founded.”[/i]–Dwight Eisenhower.
For those who wish to see the corresponding text of Lincolns – [i]“…But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate—we can not consecrate—we can not hallow—this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.
